Our team is simple, Bryan does all the digital work and his wife, Pam, does the books and helps with scanning photos and slides from home. So, we always want to be straight with you, right from the get-go. And yep, it's true, we usually have a bit of a queue of projects. But honestly, that's because we handle everything personally – it's me, running five capture systems and three other computers every single day!

Additionally, it makes sharing and viewing your movies much easier, as digital files can be effortlessly shared with family and friends, and you can enjoy them on various devices. Finally, having your home movies in digital format also provides a convenient backup, safeguarding your memories from potential loss due to unforeseen events like hurricanes or floods.
NEW DIGITAL VIDEO FILES SAVED TO SOLID STATE HARD DRIVE
You can easily watch your home video tapes, home movie film, photos and slides again! As easy as 1-2-3:
1. You can still have a traditional DVD made or opt for our new Solid State Hard Drives
2. By using a Solid State Hard Drive, you can watch your digitized media on
big screen TVs, computers, tablets and even some smartphones.
3. Home videos on DVD or MP4 Video files are a great way to save those memories for future generations to enjoy! DVDs and Solid State Hard Drives will last a long time.
4. Solid State Hard Drives are better than traditional Flash Drives, because they can hold more and are more resilient.
DIGITIZING TAPES & FILM REELS PRICING
At Video Doc Productions, we offer pricing based on quantity. The more you submit, the greater discount we can give you.
VIDEO TAPES: Over 20 tapes = a bulk order and our lowest price.
PHOTOS: We have 2 prices. One for loose photos and one for our flat bed service (photo albums, photos in plastic sleeves, cardboard pic etc...
Ask about our new Solid State Hard Drive (SSD) available for long-term storage as well as Flash Drives and traditional DVDs.
HOME MOVIE FILMS: Old home movie film has several formats.
1. Silent vs Sound Films: Silent 8mm, Super-8 and 16mm film is our lowest base price.
2. Sound Film is an additional charge. We have to run the film 2-3 times through a different system, in order to get the sound off the film. We then have to sync the sound film with the home movies.
8MM HOME MOVIE FILM SIZES
50 Foot Film Reel: 3 inches round
100 Foot Film Reel: 4 inches round
200 Foot Film Reel: 5 inches round
300 Foot Film Reel: 6 inches round
400 Foot Film Reel: 7 inches round
16mm film reels could also be between 500 and 1000 feet and up to 12 inches round.
16mm reels as large as 13” in diameter, 1,500’ in length. 16mm film reels with an optical soundtrack can be transferred and synced with the audio. 16mm film with a magnetic soundtrack can be transferred, but the audio cannot be transferred or synced, quite rare to have a magnetic soundtrack.
DIGITIZE PICTURES AND PHOTOGRAPHS
Have your family photos and pictures scanned and preserved into digital media files. Photos are approx 650 dpi and videos as MP4 files. Easily look at all your family pictures on your computer or share them with family and friends on social media. Archiving your family pictures on CD or DVD-Rom is the best way to preserve those memories for future generations!
We can also provide them on a Flash Drive or upload them to a cloud service with your login and password. New, we offer an SSD Hard Drive system for large orders. Flash Drives are good for small orders but not long-term storage.
